Add a Succulent Touch to Your Fall Decor

Want a Fun Fall Craft? Create a Succulent-Topped Pumpkin!

Looking for a creative, seasonal craft? Succulent-topped pumpkins are the perfect fall centerpiece, blending the beauty of nature with seasonal charm. Here’s how you can easily make one at home using succulents from your garden!

What You’ll Need:

  • Small to medium-sized pumpkin (real or faux)
  • Succulents (small rosette-shaped succulents work best)
  • Moss (Spanish or preserved)
  • Hot glue gun
  • Spray adhesive
  • Scissors or garden clippers

Steps:

  1. Prep Your Pumpkin: Choose a pumpkin with a flat top for easier assembly. Do not carve it! Simply clean the surface with a damp cloth to remove any dirt.

  2. Attach Moss: Spray adhesive onto the top of the pumpkin, then press the moss down to create a soft base for your succulents. The moss will also help retain moisture.

  3. Trim Succulents: Using garden clippers, carefully cut your succulent rosettes, leaving about an inch of stem. Leave them out overnight so the cut ends can callous before they are glued directly onto the moss.

  4. Arrange and Glue: Play around with your succulent arrangement before gluing. Once you're happy with the layout, use your hot glue gun to attach each succulent to the moss.

  5. Finishing Touches: Let everything dry for a few minutes, and voilà! You’ve got a beautiful, long-lasting fall décor piece.

To care for your succulent pumpkin, mist the moss once a week. Enjoy this easy and sustainable project throughout the season!
