The flowers on Hoya meliflua last a long time and smell like chocolate! It blooms in spring, summer, and fall on mature plants. The leaves of meliflua are succulent-like, dark green, and glossy. It isn't much of a climber, but looks really nice in a hanging basket. This hoya can tolerate freezing temperatures for a short period of time. Originally from The Philippines. This Hoya is sometimes called "The little fraterna."
Hoyas are unique and beautiful plants, and ultra-low maintenance! They like to be root-bound so don't repot very often. When it does seem like time to repot, never go up more than one pot size at a time (for example, go from a 4" pot to a 6" pot).
Light: Bright, medium or low light, indoors or out. Dappled sun, especially in the morning, is great.
Water: Water thoroughly, then allow soil to dry a bit between waterings. Use well-draining soil.
Pets: Pet friendly! Non-toxic
