About this experience

No “artistic/creative” skills are required to make a fun and colorful lantern with an interchangeable panel. You start with a general introduction into the process of “kiln-firing” glass. We will learn how to cut basic shapes and “paint” with colored glass sand. You then decorate your own glass panel.


There will be a large palette of colors and types of glass to use. Once complete, the pieces are finished off-site and students will be able to pick them up from The Seaside Succulent several days later. This class is designed to be fun and no stress!


Each lantern comes with a fairy light kit and the base can be used
with future lantern classes.


Closed-toe shoes required. *For safety reasons, ages 16 and over.

$40  Select this option if you DID the Fused Glass Lantern Project with Lauren on Oct 29 and do not need another glass block kit. 

Lauren Richeson is a juried artist living and working in Merritt Island, Florida. She works in mosaics, mixed-media, and glass. Her art focuses on themes of nature and color. The use of glass-on-glass techniques highlights the exploration of color as a tool to evoke emotion and portray fluidity. Her mixed-media pieces often incorporate elements like shells, wood, and stone reinforcing the focus on natural elements.
