PLEASE NOTE: This is a private workshop for Jeanette Swor's group
Event Location: 4940 Old Dixie Hwy Grant, FL 32949
Bring along your favorite medium-large pumpkin & I will provide my guided instruction, succulents, moss & everything else you need!
You'll leave with a beautiful pumpkin centerpiece that will last for months (or longer if you want it around that long)! And of course we'll go over what to do with your succulents after the holidays.
THIS IS A BYOP WORKSHOP - Bring Your Own Pumpkin! But please, DO NOT CUT into your pumpkin! We will use the pumpkins WHOLE and decorate the top! We will not be planting inside the pumpkin!
TIPS/SUGGESTIONS:
Finding a pumpkin: Publix, Downtown Produce, Winn Dixie & Walmart all usually have pumpkins starting in late September. If you'll be near Orlando, Trader Joes gets nice ones, too! Faux pumpkins can be found at Hobby Lobby, Michaels & Jo-Ann's.
Choosing the best pumpkin:
SIZE: About the diameter of a dinner plate.
SHAPE: Short and squatty is best - with a nice flat top to decorate upon!
TYPE OF PUMPKIN: Heirloom or "Cinderella" pumpkins are best because can last a really long time. The traditional orange jack-o-lantern pumpkins tend to rot much more quickly.
COLOR: Any color you like! The pretty pastel colors of the heirloom pumpkins look beautiful with succulents!
Can I use a faux/fake pumpkin? Yes! Just try to choose one with the shape recommended above - short and squatty!
Why not mini pumpkins? I will have a variety of succulent types and sizes available to choose from but most will be too large to decorate the mini pumpkins.
*Takes place in Leslie's home workshop aka garage ;) in Grant, FL ~ 15 minutes south of 192 just off US-1 (around the corner from where the Grant Seafood Festival is held)
