One for the plant collectors! Tillandsia duratii, native to various regions throughout South America, is one of our favorite air plants! It has a unique appearance and is one of the very few specimens with fragrant flowers – rare among Tillandsia. At its base, its silvery green leaves wrap around the next highest point. Duratii also can grow to a very large size over time, sometimes in excess of 3’. On top of this, it displays an impressive, long-lasting inflorescence that can reach up to 2’ in length with small, purple flowers up the stem.
Adjust the appearance of your duratii by choosing how often to water. Water more frequently is you want straighter leaves. Water less frequently if you want curly leaves!
Light: This plant prefers a very bright environment. Place very near a window but avoid direct sun.
Water: Mist all sides of the leaves well every 1-2 weeks
