This bad boy hails from South Africa where it blends in so well with its rocky habitat that it can often only be found if its flowering, which it usually does in spring & fall.

There are two theories about where the name Titanopsis comes from. The first suggests it is derived from the Greek (god), Titan, the sun, and opsis, appearance, from the sun-like appearance of the flower.
The second suggests the name comes from the ancient Greek words "titanos", meaning "limestone" and "opsis", meaning "looking like". 🤷🏼‍♀️ Makes sense to me either way!

Members of the genus Titanopsis go by several common names: Concrete Leaf, Concrete Leaf Living Stone, Jewel Weed, Carpet Leaf, Sheep's Tongue, Living Stone.

These cool plants are winter growers so water less in the summer when they are dormant! They prefer a gritty succulent mix that drains quickly and wait until the soil is completely dry before watering (when in doubt, wait longer - they do not tolerate overwatering).
☀️ A bright, sunny windowsill or a bright patio with direct sun during the winter growing season.
💧 Water only when soil is completely dry, even less in summer.
🐶 Pet friendly, non-toxic
