String of Watermelons, Senecio herreanus (now Curio herreanus) is a stunning trailing species with incredible foliage. It grows narrow, string-like stems that are somewhat stiff and can reach over 1.0' long. The branching stems have round leaves with pink to purple striping running lengthwise. Purple tones on the leaves and stems will deepen when grown in bright sunlight. String of Watermelons makes a real impact in a hanging pots near a sunny window.
Water: Water when leaves begin to wrinkle - this one likes a little bit more frequent water than most succulents!
Light: Bright indirect light, a bit of morning sun is ok but avoid full day sun or hot afternoon sun as this can cause discoloration.
Pets: TOXIC to pets!
